All About Baseball Bats

As every baseball player knows, a baseball bat is a very personal piece of equipment. It often takes days, or even months, of batting practice to find an ideal bat as you need to find the perfect size, length and weight to consistently hit the ball with power. Bats are made of aluminum, composite or wood, but if you're serious about making a career in the major leagues, you should use a wood bat. They are the only type allowed in the pros and also the only breakable ones. A tremendous amount of physics and engineering goes into the design of a bat. Make sure your bat is light enough to be able to swing at even the fastest pitches with speed. "If you can swing a heavier bat, at the same speed as a lighter one, the heavy bat will produce higher ball velocity and distance. If you swing a lighter bat at twice the speed you will have more velocity and distance." It's statements like these which can complicate matters for baseball ball players, so the best thing to do is go out and experiment on your own when choosing a bat.
