Catchers' helmets are basically taken from the same design as goaltenders' helmets in hockey. They cover your whole head and protect you with a hard, lightweight, composite exterior and foam or velvet padded interior, to absorb shocks. A chrome, steel cage mask is attached to the front of the helmet to protect eyes while allowing maximum peripheral vision.

It is designed to give you thermal protection, while the vented lining keeps you cool during games. Helmets come in various sizes and colors and you can custom build your own helmet/mask combination.
