All About Boxing Groin Protector

Low blows are common in boxing, most of them being accidental, but sometimes they are intentional. Just ask Riddick Bowe. It's usually mandatory to wear a groin protector in the ring and if it isn't, it's just common sense. Boxing protectors are a little different than those in most other sports, as they are bigger and more rigid then flexible. The protector's are usually made of shock absorbing, lightweight foam padding over a hard cup that protects your hips, waist, kidneys, lower abdomen and groin areas. Make sure the protector is adjustable and fits properly as you don't want it slipping during a bout. The protector should be lightweight and water resistant and shouldn't hinder your movement. Groin protectors come in various materials, sizes and colors. Women's models are also available.
