Hand wrap is used in boxing for added protection to a boxer's hand. Although the gloves are padded, your hands can still easily be broken during a bout as you are connecting a powerful force against hard bone. The hand wrapping helps soften the blows and hopefully your hands, knuckles and wrists as well. All boxing organizations have rules on the amount and size of wrapping allowed, so make sure you are familiar with them before wrapping your hands. Hand wraps are generally made of cotton/spandex or other woven materials. They come in various lengths and width rolls and colors.
