Dart boards are generally made of bristle or sisal fibers and each numbered section is lined with thin metal wire. The numbers are also usually made of wire, however there are various other types of boards to choose from, such as toy boards which are made of tightly rolled paper. These boards don’t usually last long and holes are often visible where the darts land. The paper often pops out of the center and unwinds. Wooden boards are also available, but they should be soaked in water overnight, every night. These boards are common in older pubs. Bristle boards are the most common and they are made of tightly packed nylon bristles which can last many years if they are rotated often. Electronic boards are also available, which automatically tally and show scores.
