Field Hockey

Field hockey is the oldest known stick and ball game. It is perhaps more popular throughout the world with women then men, even though they both enjoy this Olympic event. It's a simple game to learn, as you try to score goals by shooting a ball with a stick into the opponent's net. You don't need much equipment to play other than clothing, shoes, sticks and balls and padding for the goaltenders. Field hockey was originally played by two teams of 11 players each, on large outdoor field, but indoor versions are now being played and many fields are now surfaced with artificial grass.
