It's imperative that field hockey goalies make sure their chests are well protected from the rigors of the game, the hard ball and wayward sticks. A chest protector, made of high tech foams on the inside and hard composite material on the outside, is worn to pad the area. Make sure the chest protector fits properly so you still have enough freedom of movement. You also want to stay cool and dry during a game, so get one that is lightweight and has a good ventilation system built into it, but ensure it also offers you the right amount of protection needed.
