When buying a pair of boots or shoes for fishing you should take into account the type of terrain you will be fishing from. You need different footwear, obviously, for ice fishing, but you also need different boots for fishing from a riverbank than you would from a beach. Make sure the boots are water proof or quick drying and are made of material that won't shrink. You should also realize you may be doing some hiking in your boots along with fishing, so make sure they have good traction and support, maybe even spiked boots. Your feet need to stay warm and dry while ice fishing, so it's important your boots are capable of doing this. Make sure your boots fit well and are comfortable and that they are big enough to fit over thick socks in the winter. Boots come in various sizes, styles materials and colors.
