There are no rules or regulations on what to wear while fishing. It's really a personal preference. You should dress for the weather conditions though, as well as the terrain and the landscape you will be fishing in. Just keep yourself warm enough in cool weather and cool enough in warm weather. You will also want to keep yourself dry as much as possible too. Hats are a good idea to keep you warm and to keep the sun from burning you in the summer. Don't forget warm socks and gloves in the winter and you should always take along extra dry socks and maybe even extra shoes. Sunglasses are helpful all year round.
