There are various types and sizes of waders to choose from such as hip waders and chest waders, so make sure yours fulfill your needs. Most waders are made of neoprene, goretex or rubber. They should be lightweight and breathable with reinforced legs for puncture protection. They should have chest pockets, so you have a place to keep tackle etc. Waders come with boots added or as stocking foot models. If buying one piece waders, make sure the boots have strong soles and give you some support. Waders that are salt water resistant are ideal if you plan on fishing in salt water. Make sure your waders fit properly and allow you to move. You should also make sure you have a belt, so the waders won't fill with water if you slip in.
