Because lacrosse is a very physical and fast paced game, with sticks and balls flying everywhere, it's a good idea to wear padding over your ribs, spine and lower back. Playing with broken or cracked ribs is very painful. These pads are usually made of foam with hard plastic or composite outer shells and are covered with a nylon or synthetic outer lining. They should be fully adjustable and lightweight to keep you cool and dry. Make sure they fit well so they don't move around during a game or cut down on your mobility and flexibility. Rib pads come in various materials and sizes.
