All About Protective Gear

Even though your racing suit or jacket and pants may offer some protection many racers wear removable padding in vulnerable areas to protect kidneys, knees, shins, back, chest, elbows, shoulders, forearms and hips. These pads are made of various hard and soft compounds and are lightweight, but strong, offering you maximum protection, cushioning and shock absorption on impact. Make sure that any extra padding fits well and doesn’t hamper your movement or move around on your body. The padding should also be breathable to keep you cool while racing. Protective padding comes in various styles, colors, materials and sizes.
