Because petanque balls are relatively heavy and are of course always rolling around, you will need a suitable heavy duty bag or box to cart them around in. There are many types of petanque bags available including those made of leather, vinyl, nylon and canvas, although some people prefer cases or wooden boxes. Make sure your bag is easy to carry and has a strong carrying handle or shoulder strap. Most bags are made to carry either three or six balls in them. An ideal bag would also have compartments or pockets for your shoes, clothing and personal items.
