Because polo is a team sport each team should have distinguishing uniforms. In most regulated matches players wear short sleeved polo shirts which are numbered. However, long sleeves or jackets may be worn if it is cool outside. For recreational games you should dress according to the weather conditions and may want to wear either a sweater, t-shirt, jacket or turtleneck. Make sure your clothes keep you cool or warm as well as dry. Whatever you wear, make sure your clothing is as light weight and comfortable as possible and doesn't restrict your movement, so you are able to play the game properly.
