If you are going to be riding a horse and bouncing up and down trying to hit a polo ball with a mallet you'd better have a good saddle to keep your backside comfortable. There are a large variety of saddles on the market and they are much like shoes, they need to fit just right since you'll be spending a lot of time in them. Most polo saddles are made of leather or suede. There are a few lighter models creeping into the market that are made of other materials. You should get a saddle that is specifically designed for polo. Remember, the saddle should be bought to fit the rider, not the horse. If the saddle is too large it will be hard to stay in place and if it's too small it will likely pinch you. Once you get one that fits you then check to see if it fits the horse.
