All About Ringette Protective Gear

Ringette may not be an overly physical sport contact-wise, but protective gear is definitely needed for competitive play. Ringette players have to protect themselves from any impacts with the ice, boards, nets, sticks, skates, ring and opposing players by wearing padding on most parts of their bodies. If you are playing ringette you should wear elbow pads, a girdle, gloves, a helmet, pants, shin guards, knee pads, shoulder pads, a face mask, a mouth guard, a chest protector, and a throat protector. Goaltenders wear extra leg pads and pelvic protectors along with different gloves and headgear. Many ringette leagues will make most of this protective gear mandatory. Make sure that all of your equipment is lightweight, but strong and durable. It should also be breathable or ventilated to keep you cool and dry. Your ringette protective gear also needs to fit you properly so it doesn’t restrict your movement in any way. The protective gear is available in a multitude of sizes, colors, styles and materials.
