Once you have mastered the technique you may want to consider purchasing a boat of your own. Make sure you check the specifications of these boats though, as they are governed by weight by rowing associations. If you are looking to buy a small rowboat you should also know if you will be using it for fishing, transportation or long distance rowing. Although boats were originally made from wood and then aluminum, most of them are made of composite material now. Make sure you buy a boat that suits your needs and try it out first to see if you are comfortable with it.
