All About Rowing Clothing

If you are rowing for recreation it's safe to say anything is suitable really, as long as it's comfortable and doesn't hinder your movement. Your clothing shouldn't be loose though, as it may catch on your oars, hands or other gear. Make sure you dress for the weather and the water conditions. If you're going on an overnight trip you should pack extra clothes in case you get wet or cold. If you are rowing for competition you should check into the rules and regulations for each regatta. Tighter uniforms made of lycra or spandex are pretty good and allow you to move freely and keep you ventilated. Don't forget your head, as you may want to wear a hat to keep warm or to keep the sun off.
