All About Ski Suits

Ski suits are worn over your clothes and are designed at keeping you warm. A good ski suit should be lightweight, wind resistant and water resistant to keep you warm and dry at all times. Suits made for speed skiing and alpine skiing are often thinner and skintight to add the least amount of air resistance as possible to the body. Ski suits are generally one-piece - in the form of a jumpsuit, or two-piece models - consisting of a jacket and pair of pants. Make sure your suit is comfortable and fits well so it doesn’t restrict your movement. Don’t wear too much clothing under your suit so that it causes you to sweat. What you wear underneath the suit will depend on the weather. Make sure you get a suit that is designed for extreme cold though, as it’s easier to change your clothing underneath rather than buying two suits. Suits come in various materials, sizes, styles and colors.
