All About Pitching Machines

An ideal way for softball players to improve their swing, hitting technique or fielding is to have them face hundreds of balls thrown at them by a portable pitching machine. These automated machines are designed to throw any type of pitch both left and right handed. They throw pitches for batting practice along with line drives, pop-ups and fly balls for fielding practice. They can be adjusted for speed and accuracy and throw the ball up to approximately 90 miles per hour. They are usually made out of steel and come with wheels for easy transport and adjustable legs. Some models use 110 volt current while others run on a 12 volt battery. Pitching machines aren't much use without a ball feeder, so it's a good idea to hook one up to the machine and plug it in as they hold numerous balls.
