All About Squash Rackets

There are standard sized rackets for competitive squash play. The racket should be 27 inches long with a maximum strung area of 500 square centimeters; approximately 80 square inches. Official rackets should weigh between four ounces to seven ounces. Rackets are usually made of graphite or some other composite material, with the head being made of nylon or gut. Older rackets were made of wood and gut, and there are still a few of them around. Make sure the racket feels good in your hand and the grip is comfortable. A lighter racket is good for speed, while a heavier one is good for power. Squash rackets come in different shapes and materials.
