If you are playing table tennis for fun or recreation, feel free to wear anything that doesn't hamper your movement. If you are playing seriously in competitions you must follow the sport's dress code. Clothing generally consists of short-sleeved shirts and shorts or skirts, socks and playing shoes. Your clothes can be any color as long as they are clearly different from the color of the ball and don't obstruct your opponent's vision. Players must wear socks and soft-soled shoes. Your clothing can't have anything on it which might offend anyone or bring the game into disrepute and you can't play without a shirt, or wear cutoffs, jeans or tank shirts. Before playing you should check the tournament's regulations.
