Handball has been around for centuries and is quite popular with both men and women throughout the world, especially in Northern Europe. It is also one of the best attended Olympic sports. It's a simple game to play as the object is to score goals by throwing or bouncing the ball past the opposition's goalkeeper and into the net. It's also a relatively inexpensive game to get into as you don't really need any equipment other than knee and elbow pads along with a good set of shoes and the clothing and perhaps, an athletic supporter and protective cup.
