Because competitive triathletes are always trying to save as much time as possible, in transition time, many triathletes use specially designed water bottles while competing. If you can buy or create a water bottle that will allow you to drink from it while cycling, without having to reach for it, you won't have to slow down and lose time. Try and find a bottle which attach to your bike's handlebars, that has a long straw or tube in it, so you can drink while cycling. There are also models available that affix behind the seat with a tube running to the handlebars.
